Check before you buy
Bases. Look along them for core shots (wood or foam showing) and deep gouges. Light scratches are normal.
Edges. Run a fingernail along them: cracks, missing pieces or rust that won’t wipe off cost money.
Sidewalls. Chips are cosmetic; a crack that opens when you flex the ski is not.
Delamination. Check the tip and tail for layers lifting apart. Walk away if you see it.
Mount holes. Count the old holes. Several sets close together can stop a new mount sitting safely.
Bindings. Have a certified technician check the model is still on the indemnified list, fits your boot sole and releases at your setting. We don’t judge bindings.
