What Edge Lab is

Edge Lab is an interactive model of ski mechanics. It helps you build intuition about how your body, boots, skis and snow work together. It is a simplification. It is not lab data, it is not a substitute for a boot fitter, ski technician or instructor, and it is not medical advice (see not medical advice).

Using the site

• The tools are free to use without an account.
• You are responsible for what you do on the hill. Nothing here tells you it is safe to ski a particular way, on particular gear, in particular conditions.
• Do not try to break, overload or scrape the site. Automated access should follow our bot policy and robots.txt.

Accounts

An account lets you save setups, gear and symptom reports. Keep your password to yourself and give us a real email address. You can delete your account at any time from Account, Privacy. How we handle your information is in the privacy policy.

Gear data, reviews and links

• Ski and boot specifications come from the makers’ public pages, with the source and the date we read it. Numbers marked “est.” are our estimates. Check the maker’s page before you buy.
• Reviews are our short summary with a link to the original. They belong to their authors.
• Some links earn us a commission. They are always labelled and never change what we recommend. See the affiliate disclosure.
• Spotted a mistake? Use “Report a mistake” on the page, or email hello@edgelab.ski.

Our content

The site, the model and the writing are ours. You may link to any page and quote short passages with credit. Please do not copy the site or the model wholesale.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The site is provided as it is, without promises that it is accurate, complete or always available. To the extent the law allows, Edge Lab is not liable for loss or injury that comes from relying on it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
