What the model says

Carve radius, to scale

  • Sidecut radius: 14.812096420745071 m (est.)
  • Carve radius at 30° edge: 12.8 m
  • Carve radius at 45° edge: 10.5 m
All three drawn on one scale, from the same starting point. A smaller arc is a tighter turn.

Edge hold and float

  • Edge hold: 91%, Holds well
  • Float: 91%, Floats well
Ticks mark where the word changes. For 90 kg at 178 cm: hold on groomed snow, float in powder. Model figures, not measurements.

These are the model’s numbers, not measurements. Carve radius comes from the sidecut, so it does not change with weight; edge hold and float do. Flex and camber are our estimates (see “What the model uses” below).

2027 Fischer Ranger 108 - SkiEssentials Ski Test Review

    SkiEssentials · 17 Aug 2026 · 178 cm tested

    Reviewed as the 2027 model.

The Fischer Ranger 108 is a freeride ski oriented around softer snow and open terrain. It blends a surfy, loose, and slashey character with dependable stability due to its weight and metal laminate. The ski favors larger radius turns over tight, quick carving lines, suiting confident advanced skiers who enjoy actively steering and slithering through deeper snow rather than making sharp, locked-in carves on firm groomers.

    2025 Fischer Ranger 108 - SkiEssentials.com Ski Test Review

    SkiEssentials · 17 Sept 2024 · 185 cm tested

    Reviewed as the 2025 model.

The Fischer Ranger 108 is presented as a strong, charging big-mountain ski designed for wide spaces and high velocities. Featuring a beech and poplar wood core with shaped Titanal, it delivers exceptional vibration damping, stability at speed, and absorption over chopped snow. While less maneuverable and slower edge-to-edge in narrow trees compared to narrower options, it excels at wide-radius turns, open-bowl charging, and deep powder.

    2024 Fischer Ranger 108 - SkiEssentials.com Ski Test

    SkiEssentials · 7 Sept 2023 · 171 cm tested

    Reviewed as the 2024 model.

The Fischer Ranger 108 is a stout, powerful freeride ski with unexpected backbone. While wide enough to offer great float and a playful, bouncy demeanor in deep powder, its weight and burly build make it exceptionally stable at high speeds and confident on steep, demanding terrain. However, because of its substantial flex and mass, it can feel cumbersome and demanding in tight eastern glades unless driven by skilled, aggressive skiers.
